Executive Director, Tim Darst

Tim Darst recently gave up his career in accounting and dedicated his life to care for God's creation. Tim and his wife live in a solar-powered house, grow a lot of their own food and are regular bicycle and bus commuters. He is a founding member of the Company of St. Angela, a contemplative congregation of the faithful associated with the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville. Tim was awarded the YMCA SafePlace Joyce Skees Volunteer Award, and the 2012 Green Building/Operation Brightside Acorn Award. He is active with Project Warm, the Food Literacy Project, the University of Louisville Sustainable Operations Committee, GRASS, St. William's Church Environmental Concerns Committee, and the Passionist Earth & Spirit Center.

Mark Steiner, Outreach and Project Director

Mark Steiner has presented classes, workshops, lectures, and retreats on Environmental Spirituality, Creation Spirituality, and the Universe Story since 1991. He is a co-founder and director of Cultivating Connections a Louisville, Kentucky based grassroots not-for-profit with a focus on "Nurturing and Celebrating Our Connections with Each Other and with Our World". There he has coordinated a wide variety of events including four EarthSpirit Rising Conferences.

From 2006 - 2009 Mark served as the Director of Programming for the Center for Interfaith Relations where he coordinated interfaith programs and developed the annual Festival of Faiths' environmental components bringing in guests such as Rev. Fletcher Harper of Green Faith and Mary Evelyn Tucker of the Forum on Ecology and Religion.

In addition, Mark serves as an official facilitator of the Work that Reconnects (as articulated by Buddhist scholar and author Joanna Macy) and the Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium. He has been invited to present at various local houses of worship including Unity of Louisville, Edenside Christian Church, Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church, and Covenant Community Church.

Aaron is a marketing graduate of The Ohio State Universities Fisher College of Business. e is a LEED Certified Energy Auditor After working for nine years in the fine-dining industry, Aaron became interested in the local farmers providing high quality food to restaurants with low carbon footprints. He currently volunteers with local food movements including Breaking New Grounds and he also volunteers with Kentucky Refugee Ministries on securing food for their annual Global Gourmet fund raiser. Aaron is passionate about creating and discovering sustainable energy and food systems in the Louisville area.Email Aaron
